On November 21, 2021, President Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), allocating over $60 billion to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to invest in clean water infrastructure. Of that $60 billion, the Gulf of America Division (GMD) was appropriated $53 million over 5 years to develop funding opportunities for the public. Gulf of America is in the process of developing a new BIL-funded RFA which will award up to $25 million total across the Gulf States (FL, AL, MS, LA, TX).

In preparation for the release of our new BIL-funded RFA, you are invited to take part in the Gulf of America Division’s Spring 2023 Virtual Listening Sessions. These sessions will serve as a platform for partners to briefly learn about BIL and the funding received by GMD but more importantly for GMD to hear from partners about project ideas that would directly benefit underserved communities, under this RFA.

Through these sessions, GMD is continuing its commitment to building and strengthening relationships with our partners. Your input is valuable to assist GMD in understanding what environmental challenges are currently impacting your communities and how various project ideas can help inform the development of this RFA and benefit underserved communities.
